Description
The History of British Caledonian Airways chronicles the history of the airlines that form the family tree of British Caledonian. The roots of BCal go back to 1928 as we follow the airlines involved through to 1988, and the sale of BCal. The book covers 60 years of proud independent civil aviation, the ups and downs, the good and the bad, but all of the airlines always striving to bring a different service, a better service, to the passenger. The airlines covered include Airwork, Olley Air Services, Morton Air Services, Fison-Airwork, Hunting-Clan, Lancashire Aircraft Corporation, Air Kruise, Silver City, Air Charter, Channel Air Bridge, Transair, Manx Air Charter, Aquila Airways, Jersey Airlines, Bristows, Dragon Airways, Caledonian Airways, British United Airways and, of course, British Caledonian Airways. Along the way there were many innovative firsts in aviation, some may surprise you, but each one helped build one airline, BCal, one which everyone was hugely proud to have worked for.
