Starting with the first Admiralty aircraft of November 1911, The authors record the known careers of every aircraft to serve with the Royal Naval Air Service, plus naval aircraft during the remainder of World War One ­ over 15,000 aircraft in all. The squadrons, units and bases are detailed ­ with maps of home stations. The many hundreds of British and American airmen mentioned in the aircraft histories are indexed. The 321 photographs cover the majority of aircraft types flown, including prototypes.
