A detailed look at the construction and operational use of the P-47 Thunderbolt, one of the most famous fighters of World War II. Illustrated with dozens of photos of details of restored examples, along with period photos showing the P-47 in action. Most of the period photos are in colour, as are the illustrations of several Thunderbolts done by the author, aviation artist Lou Drendel. This is a revised and enlarged edition which contains many more period photos, both B&W and colour.
