Description
The NF-5 is an aircraft that was very popular within the Royal Netherlands Air Force. The device stood out for its simplicity and small dimensions. Nevertheless, it broke all safety records and even exceeded its designed life. A large number of the aircraft was transferred to Turkey after the phase-out around 1990, where the demo team “Turkish Star’s” flew them. Now, thirty years later, that demo team is still flying these NF-5s. In this book the author describes and illustrates the history and development of this aircraft. Several hundred photos illustrate the text, many of which have never been published before. Almost every NF-5 of the Royal Netherlands Air Force is illustrated in colour, including those lost due to accidents. Spectacular reports by some pilots complete the book. With the Lockheed F-104G Starfighter, the NF-5 formed the backbone of the Royal Netherlands Air Force for a quarter of a century. Dutch Text and captions.
