Description
In the trio of large flying boat types, which were used by the Naval Aviation Service before the Second World War, the Dornier Wal occupies an exceptional position. It was the first maritime reconnaissance vessel, which was delivered in series to the Royal Netherlands Navy in the Dutch East Indies and has served there continuously for almost eighteen years. This twin-engined high-decker has also acquired a very special place in Dutch pre-war aviation. De Wal was the first flying boat made entirely of light metal and built under license since 1927 by the NV Maatschappij voor Luchtbouw Äviolanda” in Papanedracht. This high quality book is profusely illustrated throughout. Dutch text and captions.
